Shooting Star
by Janet Nolan
2012, Recycled aluminum cans, wire, rivets, stand, 24 inches x 5 inches x 5 inches
This is one of my most recent sculptures made from recycled aluminum cans. Robert always gave me his empty tea cans and at the bottom of the sculpture is one of them. The star is made of five soda/beer cans that I found flattened out by the NYC traffic. The stand was made by my dad about sixty years ago and I used it as an element in this sculpture.
