He cast a wide net 

as wide as the sea

woven with poetry

catching several souls

longing to be taken 

seriously, spoken to 

with mystery,

plied with metaphor

and good rhyme,

intoxicated with sublime 

timing, freed from all 

ennui, so that even when we 

felt the hook, we stayed

willingly
